After graduating high school in 2022, I took a gap year to dive deeper in design & tech world. If I could sum up my gap year in a sentence, it would be: Breaking the stigmas and learning beyond the boundaries of classroom walls.

Since I was young, I loved nothing more than tinkering with creativity. From toys to clothing to digital experiences, I have constantly channeled my thoughts and ideas through the lens of design, transforming abstract concepts into realities.

As I grew older, my love for creativity continued to flourish, leading me down the path of UX design. Although initially enticed by its aesthetic possibilities, I soon discovered that beneath the visuals lay intricate and complex intersection of multiple disciplines.

This realization sparked a new level of love and appreciation for design, fundamentally shifting my perspective and shaping the design philosophy I hold today.

I believe design is more than just visuals and a linear process of creation. It’s a multidisciplinary way of thinking, learning and reflecting on the world around us, seeking to make sense of it.

Design is about creating things that are not only functional but meaningful entities that can shape the way we experience the world.

This passion of mine has led me on an exciting journey of exploring various design fields, embracing every adventure as an opportunity to grow and to widen my perspective.

During my digital product design internship at tiket.com, I gained insight into the significant role design plays in connecting businesses and their users. This experience then inspired me to delve further into the other spectrum of design and research at Project Lima, where I delved into the fascinating intersection of Design and Artificial Intelligence. Now, I'm helping out Bijak Memilih to design & build a tech-enabled platform to make Indonesian politics accessible and help voters make informed political choices.

VOLUNTEERINGS

In my design journey, I've been privileged to connect with incredible mentors, access valuable resources, and find supportive communities. This has inspired me to volunteer some of my free time for causes I care about, one of them: education.

"

Fig. 1 : Generation Girl Winter Club 2022

Generation Girl (GenG) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to introducing young girls to the world of STEM. It was through their program in 2018 that I discovered my passion for UI/UX, and has always been grateful for the role GenG played in kick-starting my journey. Inspired by this experience, I wish to do the same to other girls, who might share the same pathway as I do :). Since 2021, I have actively participated in GenG's programs, serving as a volunteer, teaching assistant, and mentor, where I share my knowledge of UI/UX to girls spanning from middle school to university level.

Next is ADPList, a free mentorship platform committed to democratizing access to mentorship. Discovering ADPList in 2021 was a turning point in my UI/UX journey, as it opened doors to invaluable opportunities. Through ADPList, I connected with mentors who not only guided me but also became friends. It also introduced me to a supportive community of like-minded individuals and propelled my career growth. To give back, I joined ADPList as a Jakarta ambassador, spreading the word about its transformative impact and organizing events alongside a fantastic team of individuals.

I can firmly say that Via is prodigious.

What I'm amaze with Via is her drive to learn. She is willing to embrace discomfort for the sake of her growth. During her internship tenure, Via manage to lead and deliver medium to big project and facilitating the workshop.

Her detailed planning skill and structure communication ability also help the team collaborate smoothly. She also not reluctant to initiate and ask feedback if things block her way. Moreover, her great work ethics and good manner bring positive energy to the people around her.

She does all of these at this young age! Imagine what she could achieve in the next few years.

    Alvin Niza, Sr. Product Designer

  • SIXTY TWO

Via presented herself as very proactive, composed, and always trying to ask the right question.

She valued everyone's time and always came prepared and in anticipation before any inquiry for meetings, syncs, or work sessions, which I found astonishing with her young experience in the industry.

Being able to teach, give direction or share design and research knowledge with her was an enjoyable process as she always expanded what I shared and was able to add her exquisite thoughts to it. Since she always proactively reached me and had active discussions in the research process, I was blessed to see her grow in such a short time in our career crossover. Her inquisitive mind, creative rigor, and hard work was a combination of an emerging critical designer for sure.

I do hope that Via could grow into a designer (or any future career path she chooses) who create big change or impacts.

    Aulia Amanda, Sr. Design Researcher

  • TIKET.COM

Via is not like any interns that I’ve ever met.

She has a one-of-kind perspective and approach to problem-solving that always manage to surprise and delight. Within 6 months internships, she handle the big hitter projects in hotel and homes product tiket.com, and she nailed it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I receive many positive responses from PMs, senior designer, & from the design leads. She always go the extra mile to ensure that the design is done right, and she is never afraid to take on new challenges and responsibilities. I have no doubt that she will continue to excel in whatever she pursues.

  • SIXTY TWO

Via is one of a kind. Nothing other like her.

I was fortunate to collaborate with such a fresh, young mind with abundant passion and motivation like Via. Her role as a Project Lima Design Intern was to research and push the boundaries of technology and design within the "trending" world of Artificial Intelligence. She worked with such rigour and independence that at times I forget she was just starting off her career in the design world. I owe it to her desire and eagerness. With such limited guidance, she was able to structure, consolidate, and produce a report about how humans can work in synergy together with AI. She proactively reached out to our team members to seek guidance and also input. Her openness to receiving information, knowledge and feedback is impeccable. I would recommend her to any institution in a heartbeat.

Via is a strong design talent.

She was prepared, meticulous, and curious. Her tenacity has been taking her very far, grasping opportunity to do internship even before finishing school. She was also creative and adaptive which has helped her to learn and thrive in a new context quickly.

    Arie Aulia Nugraha, Mentor

  • FREELANCE

Although I didn't give her a tight deadline, she finished this project faster than I expected!

As I already know, she's also easy to communicate with, detailed oriented, and always keeps in touch on every progress she had!If you need branding, logo, or even UI/UX work (Such a multi-talented person lol), will definitely recommend Via ✨

Via is a strong design talent.

She was prepared, meticulous, and curious. Her tenacity has been taking her very far, grasping opportunity to do internship even before finishing school. She was also creative and adaptive which has helped her to learn and thrive in a new context quickly.

Working with Via in BYNAMIC has been a remarkable experience!

Being in one team with her in the Publication Committee, she has consistently provided innovative ideas. Even with obstacles presented by the pandemic, she overcomes and manages to make the best out of the situation given. Moreover, she not only performs with amazing results, but she motivates and inspires others around her, and with that, she is a wonderful person to work with!
