Javanese people establish the name 'Warteg' to sell their dishes and rice arranged in glass windowed cupboards. Hence, Warteg Tokyo hopes to be distinguished as a Home for Indonesian food. It aspires to provide affordable, convenient, warm Indonesian comfort food just like in Warteg but brought to those living in Tokyo.

Logo Type

A doodly, unsymmetrical, hand-drawn logo aims to scream ‘homy’ as every dish in Warteg Tokyo is homecooked, encapsulating a sense of warmth from our homeland mother's cooking. Furthermore, the thick-round-edged font is used to depict a playful and expressive look.

Logo Illustration

Continuing from the logo doodle style, this illustration combines both Tokyo and Indonesia iconic restaurant's elements. The whole image represents a warm and inviting atmosphere that depicts the traditional and authentic feel of Indonesian Warteg while still encapsulating some of Tokyo's identity.


For instance, the building shape is adopted from the Indonesia Warteg building and decorated with Tokyo restaurant elements such as flags, lanterns, and neon signs.

Brand Colors

Red, green and yellow are used to evoke the spices and flavors of Indonesian cuisine. Green could also be incorporated to represent the fresh ingredients used in the dishes. Furthermore, black and white are used to create contrast and add a modern, sleek feel to the branding. These colors combined depicts a warm and inviting atmosphere that represents the traditional and authentic feel of Indonesian food.

Branding Assets

These branding assets are created from the logo type and illustration components breakdown. This will be utilized for client's assets in making social media publications, digital or printed menus, websites, etc.

All these assets are designed in Photoshop and illustrator, and handoff through Figma components as the client is proficient in using Figma to design other digital collaterals.
